Dr. Dorothy Beatty, PsyD, approaches psychotherapy treatment with an underlying goal to assist individuals and couples in finding a sense of peace, safety, and ease in themselves and their relationships, while discovering deeper, more fulfilling meaning in their lives. Dr. Beatty graduated from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University as a Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) in Clinical Psychology. Dr. Beatty has advanced pre- and post-graduate training in sex therapy, treating sexual disorders in men, women, and couples, and treating betrayal trauma in partners of individuals with sex addiction. Dr. Beatty also has advanced post-graduate training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed treatment interventions.

Dr. Beatty completed an APA accredited internship at San José State University with specific training in increasing diversity awareness and multi-cultural competence in psychotherapy practices. Dr. Beatty has extensive training in multi-culturally competent psychotherapy treatment, with specialized experience working within the LGBTQUIA+ community. Dr. Beatty has additional specialized group therapy training and experience, leading past skills-based groups in Dialectical-Behavioral Therapy and Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction, as well as numerous interpersonal process/support groups.

Dr. Beatty integrates mindfulness-based practices throughout her work and personal life, and views developing skills in self-regulating, self-calming, and self-healing as the groundwork for growth and change. Through her graduate training and years of clinical work with individuals, couples, and groups, Dr. Beatty has developed a strong value and belief in the importance of the person-of-the-therapist. She believes that the therapist must be willing to engage in and practice the same self-work and commitment to change and growth as any patient or client. Dr. Beatty holds this commitment with herself and her clients, and has great respect and reverence for the process of healing and change. Dr. Beatty is a Post-Doctoral Fellow and Registered Psychological Associate (PSB94026875) under the supervision of Dr. Magen Todd, PhD. (PSY23665).
